About the process...

Most of us spend our days reacting—to work, family, social media, expectations, and our own inner critic. We rarely pause long enough to notice what we're actually thinking or feeling. Sessions let you experience guided reflection, and it isn't about giving you answers. It's about helping you notice the ones that are already there, and discovering new ways of thinking.

"As nurse coaches listen with intention and from a heart space, there is an unfolding and enfolding of the person's stories/narrative, history, experiences, and perception with new insights and possibilities.  It is this space where transformative change to a "new me" often occurs."  (The Art & Science of Nurse Coaching)

Sessions take on the tone and style that you choose.  There are moments of seriousness, grief, joy, humor - you name it, and it can happen here.  The process can sound vague, but it can be applied to nearly any subject matter of life and help an individual succeed.  It targets the root of the issue within you, because another list of "7 steps to follow to beat anxiety" is NOT what you need.

Coaching sessions take place via video chat through Zoom.  Depending on your phone or computer - installing the zoom app is recommended, but no paid subscription is needed.  You will be sent links automatically when you schedule.

Sessions are traditionally an hour long, with the very first session being 1.5 - 2hrs long.  Session length can be customized depending on the clients needs and schedule.

Meeting weekly creates the most momentum and is the general goal, however this can be adjusted.

Services are HSA eligible.

Life coaching is not therapy, counseling, or mentoring, although there are many similarities and some pieces utilized

"The individual chooses the topic(s) for coaching and determines the direction of the coaching session.  The nurse coach spends time with the individual in discovery and acknowledges each person as expert in the own care."  (The Art & Science of Nurse Coaching)

Here are real life examples served by life coaching:

  • General life stress - feeling unsettled, stuck, unsure, scared, or frustrated about some component of your life
  • Trying to get the next promotion or stage in life, and need to find encouragement from within
  • Major life changes - you're in that gray area, or need to adopt a new way of being in order to adapt to the change
  • Contemplating something new - there's a new you ready to take form, but you're not sure how to make the transition
  • Working through a health diagnosis that requires change - the leap from where you are to where you need to be is challenging or seems impossible
  • Life is busy - you're a busy parent, and the pace of life has you feeling lost in the shuffle
  • Grief - maybe you had to separate from someone? They may have passed away, or maybe the separation was your choice, or maybe not? Do you need support while someone you love is passing away
  • Sensitivity - you're a sensitive person, and the world seems like a lot at times.  You replay that social interaction you had last night at the gathering, wondering if you came off too much a certain way.  You doubt yourself and your ability to show up in the world the way you want to.
  • Something more - you can tell there's something more out there for you and you can't put your finger on it, but the thought of staying where you're at forever scares you even more
  • Insert your life circumstance here ___________________ and we can turn it into something new that fills your life instead of draining it.

The themes that show up within these types of sessions are:
  • Helping people find clarity when their mind is noisy.
  • Slowing down enough to hear themselves again.
  • Using nature, stillness, and reflection instead of constant productivity.
  • Examining thoughts, beliefs, and perspectives.
  • Helping people move through transitions rather than "fixing" them.
  • Providing calm, grounded guidance.

It's completely appropriate to experience this before you invest in yourself.   I offer up to 2 sessions for free so you can have a sample and decide if it's right for you :)

Pricing is discussed during consultation or at the end of the complimentary 1-2 sessions.  First, we'll get clear on what your goal is, and if you don't know, it will be clear by the end of the first session.  We'll discuss what type of package works for you, and customize the number of sessions over a specified time span.

Payment plans are available!
